Frontend Developer
Over my 2.5 years at DER Touristik Online GmbH, I progressed from a Junior Developer to an important position within our multilingual development team. I was fortunate to be guided by experienced mentors who continuously supported and challenged me through regular code katas and technical challenges. This experience continues to shape my development style and my approach to mentoring junior developers.
Currently, I am involved in the development of various tenants, where I oversee the content migration from Magnolia to a modern CMS system and drive the technical refactoring of detail pages. With increasing responsibility, I took charge of the technical and professional onboarding of new colleagues from Germany and Italy. In this role, I place special emphasis not only on conveying technical knowledge but also on strengthening team chemistry and creating a positive work environment.
In our agile environment (Scrum), I often serve as a mediator between various stakeholders, helping to align technical requirements with business needs. As the point of contact for the CMS system, I regularly coordinate with product owners and conduct onboarding processes. I particularly value strong team chemistry, as I firmly believe that a harmonious work environment is key to successful development.

First Place in Travel Industry Hackathon
In October 2023, I achieved first place with an international team at the DER Touristik Online GmbH Hackathon. The challenge was considerable: Within just 48 hours, without any prior blockchain experience, we had to develop a solution that would make the sale of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) more attractive through a dedicated DER Touristik token.
With Chain4Travel as our technology partner and Lufthansa Group as the catalyst, we developed an innovative blockchain solution that enables customers to purchase SAF directly during flight booking while benefiting from token-based advantages.
As the only team to present a working prototype, our approach impressed the high-profile jury, consisting of executives from DER Touristik and Chain4Travel. The quality of our solution became particularly evident when we were invited to present the project at the Lufthansa Innovation Hub in Berlin six months later, where we once again received strong approval.
The project impressively demonstrated how blockchain technology can be practically implemented in the travel sector while simultaneously making a significant contribution to environmental sustainability. This intensive experience not only expanded my technical understanding but also provided valuable insights into the specific challenges of the travel industry.
Bachelor of science business informatics
Dual study program in business informatics
During my dual studies, I rotated through various departments, gaining comprehensive insights into both technical and tourism aspects of the company. Starting in the Round Trips department, I first learned about core tourism competencies before moving to DER Touristik Online GmbH, where I gained my first frontend development experience. Here, I optimized a datepicker using React.js as part of a project work, which sparked my passion for frontend development.
Subsequently, I spent 1.5 years in the 'Robotic Process Automation' department, where I automated and optimized various processes using UI Path. I completed my final practical semester at DER Touristik Online GmbH, where I was immediately hired as a Frontend Developer after graduation.
